"Together on Mission Gathering"
The Main Session
The main session will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 1101 W 18th St. in the Worship Center and will be bilingual, with Mario Navarro, our BCNM Regional Missionary helping us with the translation during the session.

Each Tri-Area church is allowed to have up to five voting messengers to vote in the business session of the Together on Mission Gathering. But we welcome additional members of our churches to attend.
The business session will be followed by worship, led by the GracePointe Church Portales Worship Team.
Matt Thackerson, the Missions Mobilization Leader for the BCNM will be our speaker this year.
The session will conclude with an altar call to allow attendees opportunity to respond to God in whatever way they feel led.

Tucumcari Churches Preparing
Their Community For ONE DAY
The churches in Tucumcari that are participating in ONE DAY are preparing their community for this event that they are calling "We Love Quay County," by preparing flyers that are being used to promote the various elements of the day's activities.
Below is the general flyer that has been prepared in both English and Spanish (63% of Tucumcari is Hispanic). This flyer will be use on the day of ONE DAY at each activity to help people know of other activities also taking place that day. It also being used prior to ONE DAY to promote the events of the day.

Flyers have also been prepared in both English and Spanish for each activity on ONE DAY - Tucumcari. These are being distributed through-out the communities and the schools to make people aware of this special day.

The purpose of each of these activities is to provide environments where opportunities to share the gospel are made possible. Similar activities will also be happening in San Jon. Additionally, teams will be going door to door to conduct a survey to discover community needs, offer prayer, and share the gospel.
Our state convention reports that almost 500 people have registered to participate in ONE DAY in either Tucumcari or Silver City, with over 300 of them participating in ONE DAY - Tucumcari.

NEWS
Recently, Dress a Girl New Mexico received an email from Trey Dewey, with Mission Aviation Fellowship. They had received some dresses and shorts provided by Dress a Girl and distributed them to the Karya Anak Perdamaian Orphanage in Papua, Indonesia.
In the email, Trey passed along the following message from the girls: “Kami dari panti asuhan karya anak perdamaian mengucapkan, terima kasih buat bajunya. Tuhan Yesus memberkati.” Which, when translated, says, “We, from Karya Anak Perdamaian Orphanage, would like to thank you for the clothes you have given. May the Lord Jesus bless you.”
The girls are pictured in the first two pictures below wearing their dresses and the boys are shown in the last picture showing off their shorts.

Conchas Delivers

Margie Berger, a member of Conchas Baptist, recently met Marsha Stowe, from FBC House to deliver 45 dresses for Dress a Girl. The ladies at House have received a request for 200 dresses for Operation Christmas Child boxes, which these 45 dresses will go a long way to helping fill.

Roy Martin Completes
His Master of Arts in
Worship Leadership Degree

Roy Martin, Worship Pastor at Parkland Baptist in Clovis, recently hosted a special worship service on a Sunday night in order to complete his Master of Arts in worship Leadership degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth. Roy was able to do his work online. His professors were watching the service online, and he received a grade for it, as his final project for his degree.
Roy recently shared with us that he received a grade for his project and thesis defense (the service was built around God making all things new). The grade he received was a 96.6!
Though Roy did his degree work online, he and his wife, Tammi, with travel to Ft. Worth so he might walk across the stage as he receives his diploma on Friday, December 5th.
We congratulate Roy on this investment in his ministry skills and commend Parkland for their encouragement and support. Parkland now has a better Worship Pastor as a result.

DIRECTOR OF MISSIONS REPORT
On Thursday of last week, Dave participated in a Zoom meeting of youth leaders to work on preparations for the 2026 Tri-Area DNOW. The group has decided to move to one DNOW that will use a one day schedule.
On Sunday, Dave preached at FBC Dora, one of our pastorless churches. The congregation now has a search committee, chaired by Tyler Morgan, son of Calvary Portales Pastor, Brad Morgan and his wife, Shelly. Tyler had led the church to go through a 40 days of prayer emphasis for their church and then asked Dave to preach on the Sunday at the conclusion of the 40 days prayer emphasis. Dave spoke from 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 on "How to Support Your Pastor." After the message, Dave asked the search committee to come forward and allow the congregation to gather around them as he led them in a prayer of dedication and ask God to give them direction.

The rest of Dave's week was spent doing work in preparation for ONE DAY - Tucumcari. He also worked on this week's newsletter and on updating the Tri-Area website, in addition to fitting in some one on one meetings with pastors and ministry leaders. On Thursday, Dave and Donna took a load on things to their new home outside of Seguin, Texas, where Dave will remain for a while, working remotely (with the Tri-Area Executive Board's permission).

The book of the week is the Becoming a Welcoming Church by Thom Rainer. This book is listed under Evangelism and Disciple-Making in the Good Books section of the Tri-Area website, which is found under the heading, "Encouraging God's Saints."

Most church members don't see their churches clearly.
In almost all of Thom S. Rainer's consultations, church members perceive their church to be friendly. But as he surveyed guests, he found that the guests typically saw church members as unfriendly. The perception chasm existed because the members were indeed friendly . . . to one another.
The guests felt like they crashed a private party.
Bestselling author Thom Rainer (I Am a Church Member, Autopsy of a Deceased Church) has a game plan for churches to become more hospitable. In a format that is suitable for church members to read individually or study together, Rainer guides readers toward a practical framework for making a difference for those who visit their church. Churches may use Becoming a Welcoming Church to assess and audit where they are on a spectrum between welcoming and wanting. Additionally, churches can use the companion book We Want You Here to send guests home with a compelling vision for what pastors want every guest to know when they visit.
Click HERE if you want to purchase this book from Amazon.com. It may also be available through other booksellers as well.
