Monthly Ministry Fellowships

Continue

Picture shows Kevin and Dareathia Dotson, Roy and Tammy Martin, Judy Mitchell, Joel Horne, Elaine Williford, Sidney Santiago (Elaine's grandson), and Kevin Poulin and Sara Williford (Elaine's daughter and son-in-law).

The Clovis Ministerial staff and wives fellowship has been meeting monthly at Guadalajara Restaurant for quite a while.  They really enjoyed the layout of round tables available there because it made it easier to hear what others around the table were saying.  Unfortunately, the restaurant has closed so this was the last opportunity to meet at that location.  (We were the last "big group"!)  Roy Martin has been coordinating these fellowships after Dave McFadden retired.  He will be in contact with the potential area attendees to plan for future fellowships.

John Combs has been working with the Portales area fellowship and they meet at El Rancho Restaurant.  Tom Irwin has been working with the Ft Sumner area group and they have changed locations to Esther's Family Diner.  Rusty Kenyan has been working with the Tucumcari area group which meets at La Cita Restaurant.  As always, any current ministerial staff and retirees are welcome to join any of these area fellowships but need to give these leaders a heads-up if you plan to attend (for head count for the restaurants.)

We would love to include pictures of these fellowships on occasion - it has been a while since we included such pictures in the newsletter.

These fellowships are invaluable in providing support, insights, and wisdom among those who have experienced life in ministry for an extended period and those currently experiencing the joys/struggles of this calling,  The building of relationships - not just among the ministers - but also for their spouses is an important ministry to these leaders.  So if you haven't been able to join in on these fellowships, please prayerfully consider doing so.  And if the date/time is a problem, talk with the leaders to see if there may be alternatives to consider.

Mission Insite -

A Tool to Know Your Community

Knowing your community and the people who live there is very important when working to sow the Gospel among them.  BCNM has partnered with a company called Mission Insite to bring you current demographic information for your area.  Several of our churches have utilized this service in the past.

On January 21st the Mission Insite system released new information from their data sources. After this update, demographic and Neighbor Center data reflects new 2025 estimates, projections, and forecasting.

You can access the Mission Insite website by clicking HERE. For more information for how BCNM can help you utilize this tool, contact the Church Missions Team.

Camping on the Rock,

Build Your Life on Him!

The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock; in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.  Psalm 18:2

That is the theme and verse of this year's Ute Lake Camp Meeting.  It will be held June 4-6 at Ute Lake.  Make plans to attend!

Patrick Pachta will be the Camp Pastor and James Golden will lead music.  Kay Erwin will lead the children.

Nathan Windsor is the Camp Director and Bevin Avent is the Assistant Camp Director Contact Joe Garrett at 575-309-9065 for reservations.

"The Harvest is abundant, but the laborers are few.  Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."  Matthew 9:35-38 (CSB)

On September 26, 2026, the One Day Mission Trip will step into two communities where the harvest is immense and the need for the gospel is undeniable.  The two areas that will be the focus for this mission trip are Roswell and the East Mountains area.  Truly these fields are ripe for harvest and this day of mission is a call to labor faithfully so that many may come to know the joy of salvation.

One of the ways you can participate from your own location before that date is to PRAY.  To help you in guiding your prayers for this event, you can access the January prayer guide by clicking HERE.

Central is inviting you to an evening with Brett Henderson for their Sportsman's Fellowship Banquet.  March 28, 2026 is the evening to set aside to attend. More information will be coming in future newsletters.

We received an email this week from Samaritan's Purse reporting that the shoebox gifts that you and others  prayerfully packed in 2025 added up to 12,205,900! In case you are not on their email list, I am sharing with you. The email went on to state that these shoeboxes go to the very ends of the earth—from jungles to deserts, from megacities to remote villages.

One of the most powerful testimonies they received recently came from one of their teams deep in the Amazon rainforest of Peru. The Chapra people are an indigenous tribe, far removed from modern life in many ways. Recently, more than 1,000 Chapra children received shoebox gifts, most of them hearing about our Savior for the very first time. In the email, they also provided a LINK to watch a multimedia presentation about how this work impacts Peru.

The Book of the Week is Finding The Right Hills To Die On: The Case For Theological Triage by Gavin Ortland.  It is listed in the Theology - Ecclesiology portion of the Good Books section under the Encourage tab on the Tri-Area website.

"This is a wise and needed book.” ―Russell Moore, President, The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention

In theology, just as in battle, some hills are worth dying on and others are not. But how do we know which ones? When should doctrine divide, and when should unity prevail? Just as a medic on a battlefield treats the severely wounded first and then moves on to the less serious injuries, we must prioritize doctrine in order of importance. Pastor Gavin Ortlund implores us to cultivate humility as we prioritize doctrine into four ranks―essential, urgent, important, and unimportant―so that we will be as effective as possible at advancing the gospel in our time.

Published in partnership with the Gospel Coalition.

  • Helps pastors prioritize doctrines and practical issues they encounter while pastoring a church
  • Answers questions related to when doctrine should divide and when to maintain unity
