Portales Area Ministers and Wives Monthly Fellowship

The Portales Area Ministers and Wives Fellowship continues to meet the 2nd Thursday evening of the month.  They have been meeting at El Rancho Restaurant.  The next time (March 12) they plan to change locations to Calvary Baptist in Portales and have a food truck available to prepare the food orders.

If you would like to ride together to the Evangelism Conference, you may contact Wayne Boydstun to try to coordinate.  He may be reached at 575-799-8000.

FBC Melrose Discipleship Evenings

First Baptist Melrose's pastor, Tyler Eanes, reported on Facebook that the church had an amazing restart to their Sunday Night discipleship - with 40 in attendance!  They are going over Basic Bible Interpretation for the next several weeks. If you missed this one, come next Sunday night - they will have notes for you to catch up on!  Dinner and childcare are provided.  The start time is 5 p.m.

The date has been set for this year's Young Lives Ablaze.  It will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026.  More details to follow but save the date on your calendars now!

Restoration Baptist Church

Is Hiring!

Did you spot the incorrect detail in the DOM Search update last week?  Dave McFadden announced his retirement effective the end of October 2025 - not 2015.  He didn't retire before he was hired!  It really was not an intentional test of your reading skills - but I'm sorry for any confusion!

Camping on the Rock,

Build Your Life on Him!

The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock; in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.  Psalm 18:2

That is the theme and verse of this year's Ute Lake Camp Meeting.  It will be held June 4-6 at Ute Lake.  Make plans to attend!

Patrick Pachta will be the Camp Pastor and James Golden will lead music.  Kay Erwin will lead the children.

Nathan Windsor is the Camp Director and Bevin Avent is the Assistant Camp Director. Contact Joe Garrett at 575-309-9065 for reservations.

"The Harvest is abundant, but the laborers are few.  Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."  Matthew 9:35-38 (CSB)

On September 26, 2026, the One Day Mission Trip will step into two communities where the harvest is immense and the need for the gospel is undeniable.  The two areas that will be the focus for this mission trip are Roswell and the East Mountains area.  Truly these fields are ripe for harvest and this day of mission is a call to labor faithfully so that many may come to know the joy of salvation.

One of the ways you can participate from your own location before that date is to PRAY.  To help you in guiding your prayers for this event, you can access the February prayer guide by clicking HERE. Link to February One Day Prayer Guide in Spanish.

The Book of the Week is Lincoln on Leadership: Executive Strategies for Tough Times by Donald T Phillips. It is listed in the Leadership and Management section of the Christian Education and Leadership portion of the Good Books section under the Encourage tab on the Tri-Area website.

Lincoln on Leadership is the first book to examine Abraham Lincoln's diverse leadership abilities and how they can be applied to today's complex world.

You think you have it rough?

Only ten days before Abraham Lincoln took the oath of office in 1861, the Confederate States of America seceded from the Union, taking all Federal agencies, forts, and arenas within their territory. To make matters worse, Lincoln, who was elected by a minority of the popular vote, was thought of by his own advisors as nothing more than a gawky second-rate country lawyer with no leadership experience.

What Lincoln did to become our most honored and revered president is history; now his wisdom and leadership philosophy can help you. In Lincoln on Leadership you'll discover why you should:

  • Seize the initiative and never relinquish it.
  • Wage only one war at a time.
  • Avoid issuing order and instead request, imply, or make suggestions.
  • Once in a while, let things slip, unbeknownst-like
  • ... and much much more.
